NEWS: Workshop “Upcycling and Green Transition” held in Čačak, Serbia

The Regional Agency for Spatial and Economic Development of Raška and Moravički Districts and the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, Serbian partners in the CAROUSEL project, organized a workshop titled “Upcycling and Green Transition” on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Science and Technology Park Čačak, Serbia.

The goal of the event was to open the discussion on upcycling and its importance in the context of the circular economy, while connecting various stakeholders – entrepreneurs, businesses, artists, local governments, public institutions, and organizations active in this field. This workshop represents the first step in a networking process in Serbia implemented through the CAROUSEL project, which aims to develop sustainable market models for upcycled products and strengthen cooperation between the creative industries, entrepreneurs, and the public sector.

The workshop brought together participants from across Serbia and featured a training session facilitated by Tijana Sekulić, CMC, certified management consultant and digital transformation expert (WKO Austria). With extensive experience in training and business consulting, Tijana guided participants through an interactive program on the business, regulatory, and community aspects of upcycling.

The workshop successfully showcased how creative reuse and sustainability can go hand in hand, inspiring participants to contribute to the broader green transition across the Adriatic-Ionian region.

The CAROUSEL project, funded under the Interreg IPA Adrion Programme, supports small producers and promotes sustainable economic growth based on circular principles and resource efficiency.
